Environmental Impact
Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is considered a clean alternative energy resource. It burns in a way that minimizes pollutants and maximizes energy production. Modern natural gas engines produce 50 to 60 percent less carbon dioxide compared to conventional fuel sources. Additionally, CNG emits up to 20 percent less tailpipe greenhouse gasses when compared to gasoline. New systems of CNG collection from organic material have caused growing portions of the natural gas supply to be classified as renewable resources. Compressed natural gas is a practical, safe, and sustainable fuel alternative.

Our Commitment
At Advanced Disposal we pride ourselves on corporate responsibility. As part of our commitment to environmental sustainability, we promote industry conversion to CNG trucks. Currently, 19% of our fleet is powered by natural gas. This percentage will grow as we retire older trucks and replace them with sustainable alternatives. We also own and manage nine different CNG fueling stations around the country.
However, these sustainable initiatives come at a short term cost. Each CNG truck costs up to $40,000 more than a gasoline alternative. Fueling station cost between $1.5 and $2.0 million dollars to complete and implement. We believe these costs are secondary to the health of our customers and the environmentally conscious future of this company.

Award And Grants
- 国家干净舰队合作伙伴:由于我们的突破性天然气计划,先进的处置进入国家干净的舰队伙伴关系。这种选择性伙伴关系由美国能源部管理。先进的处置是第一个融入合作伙伴关系的废物管理公司。
- Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett’s Act 13 Grant: Advanced Disposal was one of 25 companies to receive part of a $7.7 million dollar grant to pursue further CNG fleet expansion. The grant was used to expand CNG stations in DuBois and Norristown, Penn.
